Day 2: Rhodes Village, Eastern Cape, South Africa

After a leisurely breakfast, anglers will get their first taste of fly fishing as they cast their rods during an orientation by expert fly-fishing guides. This half day orientation will be followed by an excursion to the upper Bell River for some small stream fishing for wild Brown and Rainbow Trout, weather permitting. A delicious on stream lunch will be served daily for anglers.

For non anglers, your day starts with an exploration of the Rhodes Village, a remote little village situated along the South Africa/Lesotho border. This village is known for its beautiful traditional handcrafted work and indigenous art. The road and trails in and around the village offer a chance to stretch your legs and enjoy the crisp mountain air.

As the sun sets over the village, you sit down for aperitifs on the terrace of the Hotel, followed by a traditional South Africa dinner prepared by the Hotel chef.
