Fly fishing:
Catch and release is enforced for all river fish and trout and fish caught and taken from the dams will be charged for. Being a professional fly fishing environment, only fly fishing methods and equipment are permitted at Stonecutters and no day visitors are allowed to fish in these waters.
Fly fishing clinic with expert tuition can be arranged and are great for both new and expert fisherman. The waters of Stonecutter is ideal for all fly fishing enthusiasts, from the novice fisherman wanting to learn the sport, to experts wanting to hone their skills.
The Waters:
Stonecutters boasts 2 dams, one measuring a quarter hectare and the other one hectare. Both dams are well stocked with rainbow trout and dams are served by a jetty. Stonecutters also has 3 kilometres of the free flowing Dorps River, home to an abundance of rainbow trout.
The river is constantly maintained providing the best possible fishing conditions. The banks have been lowered and grassed in some places, making it easier and more accessible to anglers wanting to fish from the riverbank. Because of the balance food chain ecosystem, wild trout are now breeding in the river.
